We are proud to have supported British Science Week 2023 by delivering our BRAND NEW Tech for Gaming and Esports live assembly to more than 5,000 students across the UK. During this session,&nbsp; students explored the evolution of gaming, and the role technology plays in gaming and esports. They were also crucially introduced to a breadth of careers within the gaming and esports industries that they could pursue in the future. One of our award winning animations features in this session. The children watch our 'Katie and Tex explore VR' episode which is sponsored by our strategic partner, UST. National Careers Week: LIVE 'Tech for Planet' Assembly

We are proud to have supported National Careers Week by delivering our new Tech for the Planet live assembly to more than 1,000 students across the UK. During this session, children explore the role technology plays in helping us to protect our planet and fight climate change. They are also crucially introduced to a variety of green careers within tech that they could potentially pursue in the future. One of our award winning animations features in this session. The children watch our 'Katie and Tex explore drones' episode which is sponsored by our strategic partner, PwC. For those who missed the live assembly, the new assembly is now available on our website and, whilst the content is ideal for a Key Stage 2 assembly, it can also be enjoyed as a class, or even from home. 13,000 students from across the UK joined our live Tech for Cyber Security Assembly, in support of Safer Internet Day.

Safer Internet Day: Huge numbers of children attend our Tech for Cyber Security live assembly

We are proud to have supported Safer Internet Day by delivering our new Tech for Cyber Security Assembly live to more than 13,000 students. The students from all across the UK joined a live webinar hosted by our Strategic Partner, Computeam. During this brand new Tech We Can session, children explore the concepts of cyber security, hacking and phishing and learn about the technology which is being used and developed to strengthen cyber security. They are also crucially introduced to a range of careers using technology in cyber security and encouraged to think about what the future of cyber security may look like. We are also delighted that our latest Katie and Tex animation is featured in this session. This brand new animation, sponsored by our strategic partner, Morgan Stanley and produced by Bold Content, sees Katie and Tex explore what an ethical hacker does and why these roles are so critical to cyber security. For those who missed the live assembly, the new assembly is now available on our website and, whilst the content is ideal for a Key Stage 2 assembly, it can also be enjoyed as a class, or even from home. Sir Patrick Vallance shares why he believes diversity is critical for the future success of the tech industry.

Our co-CEO, Claire Thorne, spoke to Government Chief Scientific Adviser and National Technology Adviser, Sir Patrick Vallance, for Tech She Can's first birthday event.&nbsp; They discussed the importance of workforce diversity for the future success of the tech industry - and why it's critical to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to pursue a career in technology. Patrick emphasised that tackling the current lack of diversity in tech is an issue that requires urgent attention - and something that we all need to be involved in.First shown at our birthday event, you can watch the full conversation above.

Breaking News! Katie, Tex and Ava explore cloud and make national news!

Tech She Can was privileged to make the national news in December 2023 with the release of our latest <a href="https://techshecan.org/animated-lessons/the-cloud">Tech We Can animated lesson</a> all about the cloud which was featured on the ITV national news. In this animation, which was sponsored by our Strategic Partner Computeam and produced by Bold Content, Katie and Tex are joined by superstar real-life Tech We Can student, Ava who, just like her character in the animation, has cerebral palsy. Katie, Tex and Ava are joined by role model Harriet from Computeam who helps to explain what the cloud is and how important it is to the safety of lots of our data. When interviewed by the ITV news, Ava talked inspiringly about her role in the animation and how technology is for everyone.
