Our impact over the past five years

Five years ago, we were a small start-up with a bold mission and a clear aim: that no young person should miss out on a future in technology simply because they never saw themselves in it.

Five years on, that belief, and the belief of the partners standing behind us, has taken us into classrooms across the whole of the UK.
We've reached audiences 1.3 million times through our free Tech We Can lessons, resources and workplace experiences, connecting directly with +380,000 children in classrooms since our journey began.

This past year was our most successful yet for direct engagement: 141,408 students reached, in person, in the room, in real time.

In 2026, our mission, to inspire more young people into technology careers, especially girls and young women, has never mattered more. Technology is being rewritten in front of us. AI is changing what work looks like before this generation has even chosen their GCSEs. They will live in a world shaped by technology. The only question is who gets to build it.

So we go where the moments that matter are. The moments when a door either opens for a young person, or quietly closes. From that very first spark, to their first step into industry.

Our impact in numbers to date

Inspiring at school

Our Tech We Can education resources are built for every young person.

We start early, giving them hands-on experience with technology through our Tech Enabled Workshops, and introducing them to role models they can actually relate to.

Our much loved LIVE lessons help us reach young people right across the country. This year, on Safer Internet Day, we reached more young people in a single day than ever before.

In Yorkshire and Coventry, we keep coming back to the same young people, in person, year after year. Because one visit sparks curiosity. Coming back is what changes minds.

Opening the door to work experience

Curiosity needs somewhere to go. So we open the doors into real workplaces, where young people get to hear real career stories from the people living them.

Over the past five years, we've hosted 24 Career Insight Days with our industry partners, giving over 1,000 young people the chance to step inside the workplace and experience industry firsthand.

Half of state school students in the UK miss out on work experience altogether. So this year, we took the workplace to them with WEX Tech Week.

Real role models. Real career stories. Clearer routes into apprenticeships and early careers. In just one week, we reached more than 1,800 students across 37 schools and organisations, spanning all 11 UK regions and nations. 22 role models from over 10 industry partners got involved, generating over 3,000 session attendances.

Investing in teachers

This year, we reached over 1,700 teachers through our CPD programmes with Microsoft and Infosys.

Our CPD is designed to spark excitement in students about the world of technology, and the careers it can open up. It boosts teachers' confidence and knowledge, and gives them the tools to talk about tech pathways with ease, while exploring how education can help close the skills and gender gaps in the industry.

We're a certified CPD provider with the CPD Group, so every session counts towards teachers' own professional development goals.

The Regenerative AI Roadshow

This year we embarked on a roadshow with Accenture, the Regenerative AI Roadshow, the aim was simple: to make AI feel less like something happening somewhere else, and more like something young people could understand, question and shape for themselves.

Over five months, our teachers travelled to schools in communities too often overlooked, bringing hands-on AI learning straight into classrooms. Students explored how AI actually works, thought critically about responsible technology, and used it to tackle problems that matter to them.

Alongside the roadshow, our AI for All teacher CPD programme, in partnership with Microsoft, gave educators the confidence and tools to keep bringing AI learning to life long after we'd moved on.

The result: over 50,000 student interactions delivered through in-person workshops and virtual assemblies, reaching young people who are too often furthest from the opportunities AI will create.

Women in AI Summit

Our work doesn't stop at the classroom door. We support women already in the workplace to keep learning, progressing and shaping the industry around them.

At our Women in AI Summit this year, we brought hundreds of women together to build skills and confidence in AI, with a brilliant keynote from the AI Minister. Because we don't just want women working in tech. We want them leading it.

A bigger stage for the mission

We've become the charity partner of choice for some of the biggest names in tech.

This year, hosting the EQL:Lounge at London Tech Week gave us our biggest platform yet, putting some of the industry's most influential women front and centre. We were also charity partner for the third year running at The Bett Show, and proud to launch our first partnership with Tech Show London.

Thank you

Five years in, and we're only just getting started.

We know what works. And we know it only works together: with our partners, our schools, our volunteers, and the young people at the heart of everything we do.

As we step into our next chapter, our commitment stays crystal clear: to be bold, imaginative and future focused, because the future of technology must be diverse, curious, empathetic and powerful.

Thank you to every partner and every volunteer helping us build a world where the technology of tomorrow is shaped by all the talent and ambition in our society, not just some of it.
