<p>As cashless payment technology continues to advance, we’re increasingly able to buy things digitally, using smart devices such as phones and watches, without the need for traditional banknotes and coins.<br><br>However, the way we now make purchases, with just a simple tap of a card or device, can be confusing for children who don’t see any cash being exchanged. It’s therefore important to remind children that cashless payments still involve transferring money to the company or person being paid, as we explain in this animation.<br><br></p><h3>The challenge</h3><p>If you’d like to explore this topic further with your students or children, take a look at this <a href="https://natwest.mymoneysense.com/parents/worksheets-activities/name-the-digital-payments/">activity sheet for 5-8 year-olds</a> from NatWest MoneySense, with whom we partnered on this animation.
