Regenerative AI Roadshow
When Tech She Can and Accenture launched the Regenerative AI Roadshow, the aim was simple: to make AI feel less like something happening somewhere else, and more like something young people could understand, question and shape for themselves.
Over five months, our educators travelled to schools across communities that are too often overlooked, bringing hands-on AI learning experiences straight into classrooms. Students explored how AI actually works, thought critically about responsible technology, and used it to tackle problems that matter to them. Alongside this, our AI for All teacher CPD programme, in partnership with Microsoft, gave educators the confidence and tools to keep bringing AI learning to life in their classrooms long after the roadshow moved on.
The result: over 50,000 student interactions delivered through in-person workshops and virtual assemblies, reaching young people who are too often furthest from the opportunities AI will create.
Impact in numbers
Covering 9 regions across the UK
Through workshops, assemblies and teacher CPD sessions, co-created by Accenture, with Microsoft supporting the teacher CPD programme, the roadshow reached students across London, the North East and Newcastle, Manchester, Blackpool, Birmingham, Bristol, Glasgow and Edinburgh and West Yorkshire. 15+ Tech She Can educators took the road to deliver in-person workshops, teacher CPD and assemblies.
Reaching beyond London matters. Access to technology role models, employer engagement and careers inspiration is too often concentrated in major cities, leaving talented young people in other regions without the same opportunities to see themselves in tech. By bringing the roadshow to towns and cities across the country we are ensuring that a child's postcode doesn't determine their access to opportunity.
Teacher CPD delivered with Microsoft
As part of the roadshow, we teamed up with Microsoft to deliver our AI for All CPD programme, reaching over 1,000 educators across nine UK regions with a few remaining sessions in September.
Every child today will work in a world shaped by AI, and teachers are best placed to help them navigate it. Yet only 16% currently feel confident teaching it.
That's the gap AI for All is closing: giving teachers the confidence and tools to prepare young people for what's next.
Industry volunteers
Our school visits were brought to life by volunteers from Accenture, VodafoneThree, NatWest, DWP, HMRC and Barclays, who gave their time and expertise to act as real-life role models for children. The impact has been profound, proof of just how much difference one person can make, for the children they inspire and for the volunteers themselves.
Taking part in initiatives like the Regenerative AI Roadshow offers volunteers something rare: the chance to step outside the day-to-day and see their skills through fresh eyes. For many, standing in front of a classroom and watching a student's confidence grow is a powerful reminder of why they chose their career in the first place.
AI workshops
During the workshops, in groups, students got into specific tech roles to create their own AI Helpers that would help to solve a problem for a specific persona. The creativity, resilience and collaboration was inspiring and students came up with such wonderful ideas, from apps to help students with English as an additional language, to AI support for new mum's who are struggling, grieving adults, solo travellers and so much more!
