This is a hands-on and varied role within a small, dynamic core team, working in a fast-paced, charity environment. You’ll be involved in a broad range of activities – from updating the website and engaging audiences on social media, to creating content, supporting multichannel campaigns, and coordinating online and in-person events in collaboration with schools or our industry partners.
The broad objectives of the role are to:

  • Grow and engage Tech She Can’s key audiences and communities
  • Build engagement with key influencers, stakeholders and partners
  • Support the delivery and promotion of events that advance the charity’s mission
  • Build and promote the charity’s reputation and inspire people to support and engage with Tech She Can

Key responsibilities

  • Input into communications plans for strategic priorities, including campaigns, programmes and events, to reach influential audiences

Reach & engagement

  • Help identify and build relationships with key audiences and partners, particularly across the education, youth, charity and technology sectors
  • Grow Tech She Can’s audiences across existing and new social media channels, nurturing engagement and community over time
  • Support audience growth and engagement around key moments, campaigns and events

Events & partnerships

  • Support the planning, coordination and delivery of Tech She Can events (online, hybrid and in-person), including webinars, member events, panels and external conferences
  • Manage event communications, including event listings, registration pages, promotional content, reminder emails and post-event follow-up
  • Liaise with internal colleagues, member organisations, speakers, venues and suppliers to ensure events are delivered smoothly
  • Support on-the-day event delivery, including logistics, attendee communications and live social media where appropriate
  • Capture event content and insights (e.g. photos, quotes, key messages) to reuse across marketing and communications channels

Brand

  • Act as a brand guardian, ensuring correct application of brand guidelines and consistency in tone, style and quality across marketing, communications and event materials
  • Monitor and manage online audience interaction to proactively manage reputational issues and identify opportunities for positive engagement

Content creation

  • Support the Marketing & Comms Lead to manage the charity’s digital channels (website and social media) and publishing pipeline
  • Write, post and schedule engaging, inclusive and accessible content across channels, including event promotion and follow-up content
  • Manage and update the website via the bespoke CMS and liaise with the website developer
  • Draft copy for newsletters, promotional materials, event pages, editorial, articles, case studies, press releases and digital/print assets

Reporting & evaluation

  • Monitor and report on the performance of marketing, communications and event activity
  • Use digital tools (including Hootsuite and Google Analytics) to manage publishing schedules and track engagement
  • Support post-event evaluation, capturing insights and learnings to inform future activity

About you

  • A passion for inspiring the next generation of tech talent
  • Proven experience delivering marketing and communications activity across a range of channels
  • Experience supporting the planning and delivery of events (online and/or in-person)
  • Strong digital marketing skills, including content creation and website management
  • Good understanding of social media platforms (including LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook and X/Twitter) and how to create effective content for each
  • Excellent writing, copyediting and proofreading skills, with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and collaborate closely with colleagues and partners

Why this role is exciting

You’ll enjoy a varied, hands-on role where no two weeks look the same; from creating digital content and growing online communities, to helping deliver meaningful events alongside leading organisations in the tech and education sectors. Working closely with the Marketing & Comms Lead in a small, ambitious team, you’ll have real ownership, creative freedom and the chance to see the direct impact of your work.
