Katie and Tex explore Augmented Reality resources created by Royal Air Force Youth STEM
In this episode, Katie and Tex dive into the exciting world of augmented reality (AR). AR blends the real world with computer-generated images using devices like phones, tablets, or headsets. Unlike virtual reality (VR), which immerses users in a fully virtual environment through a headset, AR overlays digital objects onto the real world through a screen, allowing interaction via touch, voice, or device movement.
AR is widely used for entertainment, from filters in videos and images to popular AR games. However, it's also making a significant impact in professional fields, such as the Royal Air Force (RAF) using AR for training and doctors incorporating it in medical education. With AR technology advancing rapidly, mixed reality, which combines elements of both AR and VR, is on the rise, offering even more immersive experiences.
