Adapting AI education for SEND schools

At Tech She Can, we believe every young person should have the opportunity to explore the future of technology, and that includes ensuring our resources are accessible and inclusive for SEND schools.

As part of our Regenerative AI Roadshow with Accenture, we were proud to deliver a modified AI workshop at Thomasson Memorial School for Deaf Children in Manchester.

Working closely with the school, we adapted our resources and delivery style to better support Deaf students and create an engaging, inclusive learning experience. From accessible communication approaches to tailored workshop activities, the session was designed to ensure every student could actively participate in hands-on AI learning.

The workshop reinforced something we strongly believe at Tech She Can: when barriers are removed and inclusion is prioritised, every young person can see themselves as a creator of future technology.

Creating inclusive pathways into tech is central to our mission, and we are committed to continuing to adapt and evolve our programmes so that more students - regardless of background or additional needs - can access inspiring technology education.

A huge thank you to the staff and students at Thomasson Memorial School for Deaf Children for welcoming us so warmly, and to Accenture for supporting this important work.
